Is This The Best The Lakers Can Do?

Just wondering if it's okay to feel even more confident about the Celtics winning this series AFTER a loss. That was a complete gimmie by the Celtics- Paul Pierce took the night off, Kevin Garnett only decided to show up after half time, they turned the ball over one out of every three possessions, they left Sam Cassell in for about ten minutes too long, they were playing on the road, and they were in foul trouble all night long (or as we like to say here on the East Coast, the refs had it in for the Celtics from the start).

If you told me before the game that KG and PP would only score 19 points between them I would have guessed the Celtics would have lost by at least 20, maybe even 30. But they only lost by six points because the Lakers are a terrible offensive team unless Kobe Bryant carries them on his back. Yeah, he scored 36 last night but I never once felt like he was dominant. Perhaps that's because he was at the free throw line so much. If this is all the Lakers have, they're in serious trouble. As cool as it would be for Boston to win the championship at home, this series might only be going five.

And for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, here's the footage from game 2 at the Staples Center where the classy Lakers fans team up on the lone Celtics fan. I sort of side with the Lakers fans on this one- you're just asking for trouble if you show up in Celtics garb but the only shot the Lakers have of beating the Celtics is if they team up on them like this. Nice job by security to do absolutely nothing.
